Advanced EEG Conference
Date: 6-7th February 2020
Venue: Royal Institution
Location: 21 Albemarle St, Mayfair, London W1S 4BS
Following on from the success of the two previous Advanced EMG Conferences Optima hosted, a number of requests were received to run a similar event for EEG. We were therefore delighted to be able to host the first Advanced EEG Conference bringing together national and international experts to share their knowledge on a range of Invasive EEG and Long Term Monitoring topics.
The two-day course, in the historic Royal Institution building, was attended by over 154 participants. These included Registrars, Consultant Neurophysiologists, Clinical Physiologists, Neurologists, Paediatricians and Medical Engineers.
The faculty consisted of Professor Helen Cross OBE from Great Ormond Street, London, Dr Sushma Goyal from the Evelina Hospital, London, Professor Sandor Beniczky from Aarhus University, Denmark, Dr Pal Larsson from Oslo University Hospital, Norway, Dr Lara Prisco from John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and Dr Mark Scheuer from University of Pittsburgh, US.
Their joint expertise covered stereotactic EEG, ILAE Classification, source localisation of epileptiform activity, intra-cranial recordings and stimulations in the pre-epilepsy surgery patient, continuous video EEG recording in the Intensive Care Unit, long term monitoring in pre-surgical paediatric patients along with the use of quantitative EEG in continuous monitoring including case studies.
With such a stimulating agenda and faculty, the result was a very engaged audience, from whom we have received excellent feedback regarding both course content and overall organisation. We are already looking forward to hosting the second Advanced EEG Conference!
